McAfee has reported total net revenue of $489.2m for the second quarter of 2010, an increase of 4% compared to $468.7m for the same period last year. Revenue from corporate business grew 2% year-over-year to $298m, while consumer business revenue grew 8% to $191m.
The company posted an operating income of $55.1m for the second quarter of 2010, compared to $55.9m for the same period last year.
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2010, the company posted net income of $39.4m, an increase of 38% compared to a net income of $28.7m for the same quarter a year ago. Net income per diluted share was up by 39% to $0.25 from $0.18 per share for year ago quarter.
Geographically, North America revenue grew 8% year-over-year to $285.9m in the second quarter of 2010, accounting for 58% of the total revenue. International revenue grew marginally to $203.4m accounting for 42% of total quarter revenue.
Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer at McAfee, said: "For the second quarter we’re proud to report another strong quarter and are especially pleased to see the solid non-GAAP earnings per share, strong operating cash flow, coupled with solid consumer and corporate bookings.
"Despite foreign currency headwinds, we improved operating leverage resulting in better than expected non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.63 and we generated operating cash flow of $134m, attesting to the strength of our business model. Our financial foundation is set for continued growth with leading offerings, a world class sales force and the strongest partner relationships in our history."
McAfee anticipates net revenue in the third quarter of 2010 to be in the range of $505m to $520m and GAAP net income to be in a range of $0.29 to $0.33 per diluted share.
