McAfee has signed a strategic partnership with Crossbeam Systems to enable a new security offering which combines McAfee’s NxG firewall, and firewall enterprise with Crossbeam’s new X-Series family of network security platforms.
McAfee said that under the new initiative, Crossbeam X-Series family will enable McAfee firewall enterprise to deliver performance with speeds up to 40 Gbps of inspected application traffic throughput.
With McAfee running on Crossbeam’s X-Series, customers can achieve cost-reduction.
The company said that X-Series allows organisations to consolidate security appliances and related network devices onto a single chassis.
NxG firewall will provide visibility into both external and internal threats and vulnerabilities.
McAfee network security SVP and general manager Rees Johnson said, by partnering with Crossbeam, the company is meeting the growing demand among government, large enterprises and carriers to protect against threats, and to reduce cost and complexity of their security infrastructures.
