Matrix42, a provider of IT-Commerce offerings, has launched a connector for Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
The company claims that the Microsoft customers benefit from automated IT service provisioning and a maximum degree of cost transparency achieved through leveraging both tools.
The company said that its IT-Commerce for SCCM suite uses the connector to leverage SCCM’s software distribution and inventory capabilities, which extend and enhance SCCM from systems management software to IT-Commerce.
In addition, the Matrix42 suite enables customers to present their IT services in a web-based service catalog and accepts users’ orders, handles the approval process and initiates the delivery process, directly interacting with SCCM and achieving 100% closed loop IT business automation, from requests to subsequent cost allocation.
According to Matrix42, SCCM provides the Matrix42 offering with the basis data for corporate compliance. Inventory data flows into the Matrix42 license management system, providing transparency on licenses, assets, contracts and costs.
The combined usage of Microsoft SCCM and Matrix42’s IT-Commerce service gives users the ability to use the service catalog to return services and software they no longer require. This feature allows companies to transfer software licenses to other users with no manual intervention, the company added.
