Working with a secure magnetic stripe reader, browser software and the existing magnetic stripe cards in consumers’ wallets, QwicKey is expected to accurately and safely use their personal information without risk.
Magensa claims that the new portable online security device provides safety than other password managers by enabling consumers to simply swipe their card to execute a secure transaction. Account information is accessed from the card, while no critical elements, like credit card account numbers or identification access codes, are stored on the computer.
According to the company, QwicKey is expected to enhance online security by eliminating the possibility of sensitive consumer data being stolen by keyboard loggers or virus programs, and provides consumers with the confidence and peace of mind of knowing that their online identities and assets are safe.
Larry Meyers, chief strategy officer of Magensa, said: QwicKey allows online consumers to have the same checkout experience and security benefits they enjoy when shopping at traditional retail locations right at their desktop. Users simply swipe their trusted payment card, make a few mouse clicks, and complete their transaction.
