M86 Security has upgraded its Professional Edition suite of appliance products that include R3000, Enterprise Reporter and Threat Analysis Reporter.
The company claims that the enhanced professional suite provides wizard-based installation, a new look that offers IT staff at-a-glance information about the status of their network, and flexibility for setting up and enforcing security and bandwidth policies.
8e6 Professional Edition is an appliance-based offering available to protect organisations from web-based threats. It integrates URL filtering, forensic web usage reporting and real-time monitoring.
According to M86, the R3000 internet filter offers enterprise-level filtering and filters URLs, anonymous proxies, spyware, botnets, instant messaging, peer-to-peer and other emerging threats utilising the companies category database enhanced by Intelligent Footprint Technology.
The Enterprise Reporter, built on a MySQL database, processes and displays internet filtering logs without impacting filtering and network functions. It uses a graphical interactive data-mining interface to generate detailed or summarised reports. The Threat Analysis Reporter provides graphical snapshots of internet traffic and is supported by real-time management tools to identify and control user-generated web threats, the company said.
Werner Thalmeier, vice president of product management for M86 security, said: “The 8e6 Professional Edition addresses critical security concerns and bandwidth issues for any organisation. The improved appliance products are easy to set up and use, reliable and effective, and set the standard for high-performance, web-based threat security.”
