The app sheds virtual weight and makes users look slimmer in selfies.

By CBR Staff Writer

A new iPhone app has been released on the Apple App Store that lets users to edit their selfies to make their face look 5 to 15lbs thinner.

The app’s description says: "SkinneePix makes your pictures look thinner. SkinneePix makes your photos look good and helps you feel good.

"It’s not complicated..No one needs to know. It’s our little secret."

The app is developed by the co-founders of PrettySmartWomen including Robin Phillips and SusanGreen and developers at Dezapp.

"People told us what they want, they want the pictures to be a real representation of what they look like, and that is what we have tried to give them." Phillips added.

"We did not build this app to address body image (Since it doesn’t alter the body) but if it gets people talking in the right direction about taking their health seriously, well then we are all for that."

The android version of the app is planned for launch this month.
