London Met Police overhauls IT with Atos

News: In the same week Atos announced a major acquisition.

By Alexander Sword

The Metropolitan Police Service is working with Atos to develop its core IT infrastructure.

Atos will provide the Service Integration and Management Tower (SIAM), service desk and management for London’s police force.

This will include managing the 24-hour service desk and managing a "shift to self-service".

Atos will also manage transformation of the Met’s other suppliers in data centre, hosting, end-user, network and application management services.

The French IT services provider will also test and release applications for use by officers and staff.

"This contract award signals a change in the way we deliver ICT for the MPS," said Chris Naylor, Director of Digital Policing at MPS.

"We have a joint commitment to continuous improvement, delivering vital savings for the MPS over time and bringing innovation to the way the MPS delivers and supports technology for colleagues."
