Logitech has rolled out HD video and audio security offerings for small businesses, that includes the company’s Alert B700i PoE Camera and Alert B700e PoE Outdoor Camera.

Unlike the standard Digital Video Recorder (DVR) setup, the Logitech Alert system enables business owners to monitor their cash register, storage rooms, a warehouse or the front desk, inside or outside with HD video and rich audio, the company said.

Logitech expects that the offering meets the need of value-add resellers (VAR) looking for a small business security offering and will not require them to create costly, piecemeal security offerings to meet the needs of their small business clients.

With the Logitech Alert PoE HD video security system, small businesses can receive clear HD video and rich audio, with no additional DVR or timely setup process required.

The new Logitech Alert PoE cameras feature a smart HD camera, a built-in microphone for audio recordings, efficient wall mounts, a PC software, and ability to view remotely on a PC, Mac or smartphone applications for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry.

Setting up the Logitech Alert PoE HD video security system requires installing the Logitech Alert software, and connecting the system to the client’s existing networking infrastructure using standard 48V PoE and this lets the Alert PoE cameras to record motion-based events to the camera’s built-in DVR.

The Logitech Alert PoE cameras are equipped with 720p video and a 130-degree wide-angle lens, for businesses to recognise the faces of potential intruders or the license plates of suspicious vehicles, as well as help in monitoring multiple areas.

The Logitech Alert B700e PoE Outdoor Camera is compliant with IP55 (International Protection Rating) certification, and allows owners to monitor their businesses in complete darkness regardless of weather conditions

The company notes that each cameras also feature a 2GB MicroSD card for storage, that offers capacity for about 800 15-second video clips, and automatically backs the videos on the user’s PC hard drive.
