LizardTech releases Express Server 7

Offers a quicker way to distribute high-resolution raster imagery

By CBR Staff Writer

Celartem unit LizardTech, a developer of software products for managing and distributing geospatial content has released a version 7 of Express Server image distribution software.

The company said its new offering supports the MrSID Generation 4 (MG4) format, which will offer geospatial professionals a faster and stable option to distribute high-resolution raster imagery.

The new version uses alpha-band transparency for better looking mosaics and enables the delivery of specified bands from multi- and hyperspectral imagery.

Express Server 7 offers support for MG4, where customers serving imagery can deliver better looking mosaics and will get multispectral imagery which can be served to whatever format the client request including JPEG or PNG.

The 64-bit operating system enables users to allocate more memory to caching, which improves Express Server performance, in support of their large image archive.

LizardTech said Express Server can handle multispectral imagery beyond three bands as well as enables users to serve 4-band colour images containing an infrared channel, use the latest 8-band satellite imagery, or distribute high-resolution RGB datasets.
