Lionbridge Technologies and Author-it Software(ASC) have entered into a strategic alliance to create a unified global content lifecycle application. With the agreement, the two companies will integrate the Author-it enterprise authoring platform with Lionbridge’s language technology platform.

The companies claim that the integrated offering will allow organisations to create, structure, reuse, localise and publish content into multiple languages and multiple formats from virtually any enterprise source within a single application.

According to the companies, by integrating the Author-it environment with Lionbridge’s language platform, organisations can reduce costs, eliminate unnecessary file transactions and maximise reuse across the entire content creation ecosystem.

Paul Trotter, CEO of Author-it Software, said: This partnership brings together the most advanced technology from enterprise authoring, component content management, multi-channel publishing, and translation software to provide a single, end-to-end global authoring solution. Our clients are looking for a single global content solution that enables them to develop and leverage source language content in a cost effective manner.

“By integrating Lionbridge’s live-asset language solutions into our application, the translation processes can be directly linked with content creation to form a seamless workflow. This powerful combination drastically extends reuse and consistency throughout the entire global content lifecycle.

Rory Cowan, CEO of Lionbridge, said: We believe that eliminating unnecessary steps in the global authoring lifecycle through intelligent integration represents the future for global content management. Together, Author-it and Lionbridge have created a solution that significantly reduces the time and expense of global content development and accelerates organisations’ time to market for multilingual content.
