Kyocera Mita America has revealed the availability of a series of applications utilising HyPAS (Hybrid Platform for Advanced Solutions) for the company’s line of TASKalfa multifunctional devices.

The company claimed that HyPAS is a scalable software product platform that optimises the performance of Kyocera’s MFPs through custom, integrated software applications to meet the specific document imaging needs of users.

Utilising two technologies, Web Services and Java, HyPAS reportedly transforms a Kyocera TASKalfa MFP into a resource that evolves as its end-users business evolves – all resulting in enhanced information sharing and distribution, resource optimisation and improved document workflows.

The company’s new suite of HyPAS-enabled applications include: PanelPlus which is a software tool that allows Kyocera authorised dealers to develop and deploy custom operation panel interfaces for end-user customers; Equitrac where the company is now offering integration with both Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express products for print tracking and cost recovery; and PrintQ Manager Secure Print Release that offers Windows users print management and security benefits for select Kyocera MFPs.

By fully utilising PrintQ Manager embedded in HyPAS-enabled devices, the end-user printing experience is said to be enhanced with such features as print authentication and authorisation management using Active Directory.

Through its HyPAS technology, the company is now offering integration with Open Text Fax Server. RightFax integration allows users to scan and send documents directly from its select MFPs via the RightFax server.

The company said that KYOcapture is its document capture workflow product. It allows organisations to capture, process and route their paper and electronic-based documents to virtually any document management system. An open-architecture middleware product, KYOcapture serves as a gateway for documents to be stored, shared, searched or retrieved throughout the network so that end-users can access the information they want, when they need it.

Akisa Matsuda, director of software solutions at Kyocera Mita America, said: “HyPAS-enabled Kyocera MFPs allow for the integration of the most advanced applications, personalised to an organisation’s specific document imaging requirements. With HyPAS, organisations will be able to enhance the overall functionality of their document output devices, resulting in a lower cost of operation and more immediate return on their investments.”
