Kognitio has released latest version of WX2, its analytical database, which features improved support for memory-based analysis.

According to company, the new version includes improved in-memory analytics; automated fault recovery, which offers maximum database uptime; removal of scheduled downtime; improved multi-lingual support, which ensures that it can be deployed globally.

In addition, it also features increased level of user concurrency, which allows users to submit queries at the same time; and greater scalability, which allows users to deploy WX2 and scale their systems from terabytes to petabytes, with no impact on the analytical performance.

The company claims that it makes it possible for companies to benefit from high-intensity, high-performance data analytics to obtain the results they need in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost of competing products.

Roger Gaskell, chief technology officer of Kognitio, said: WX2 version 7.0 delivers a virtual universal uptime environment, making tangible strides toward an ‘always-on’ database environment, and meeting the increasingly constant requirements of data-intensive firms.

Its enhanced ability for the database to automatically collect information and restart after a hardware failure is a key asset for companies where consistent access to data and the ability to analyse it is a corporate imperative.
