Russian security firm Kaspersky Lab released an anti-spam and anti-malware application called Linux Mail Security which can be integrated into different type of Linux-based mail server to fight spam and block malicious attachments.
The new corporate email protection application can addresses the danger of targeted attacks on businesses.
Kaspersky Linux Mail Security features ZETA Shield technology, which claimed to detect and block complex exploits, including new and unknown ones, contained in malicious emails.
The application comes with a new antivirus engine that blocks malicious emails fast, with improved detection rates and reduced impact on resources and an attachment filter and format recognis er that monitors and filters email attachments according to the company’s security policy.
The Urgent Detection System 2 is a cloud-based security system which helps the Linux Mail Security to maintain two-way communication between Kaspersky Lab’s customers and the company’s experts allowing to get a verdict on suspicious mail without disclosing the mail contents.
Reputation Filtering utilises Urgent Detection System 2 to categorise potential spam according to reputation, blocking a new spam attack, even if the text of the message has been altered slightly.
The new application integrates with a new Enforced Anti-Spam Update Service to offer anti-spam database updates to the customer.
Kaspersky Lab chief product officer Petr Merkulov said: "Kaspersky Linux Mail Security one of the most advanced corporate email protection solution, which can be deployed on the existing mail server and managed with ease."
Kaspersky Linux Mail Security is compatible with the AMaViS software bridge between a mail server and the anti-spam application.
Other new features include support for IPv6, rich traffic management rules and the potential for integration with Active Directory and OpenLDAP.
