Juniper Networks said that Nokia Siemens Networks has certified four new security offerings that integrate Juniper products for fixed and mobile networks. Under the partnership, the new offerings are tested for deployment and service enablement.
Mark Bauhaus, executive vice president and general manager of SLT products group at Juniper Networks, said: By building on our partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks and our continuous path of innovation, we are now jointly bringing new security features to the network that ensures the reliability and availability of value-added services.
According to Juniper Networks, some of the mobile operaters such as T-Mobile have already deployed the new security offerings that have been certified by Nokia Siemens. These offerings include the mobile packet core security that protects from unauthorised access, manipulation attacks and theft from untrusted networks; subscriber data management security that is a pre-configured offering that protects infrastructures against IP-based attacks, while eliminating theft or manipulation of subscriber data.
In addition, the offerings include Security-as-a-Service that enables network operators to capitalise on new revenue streams and increase customer retention by offering security services on top of communication services; and security information and event management (SIEM) that analyses and manages disparate sets of surveillance and log data to manage networks from a single console.
Thorsten Schneider, head of security business line at Nokia Siemens Networks, said: By extending our relationship with Juniper, we are bringing to the market leading security solutions, coupled with unique expertise and a proven record of success in consulting, design and support to uniquely address our security needs.
In October 2009, the two companies have formed a joint venture to serve the carrier ethernet market, by providing carrier ethernet offerings for mobile backhaul, business services and residential broadband applications to enable advanced broadband services at reduced TCO.
