Juniper Systems has unveiled the new Mesa Rugged Notepad, a latest edition to its lineup of rugged handheld computers that provides a platform for field data collection applications.
According to Juniper Systems, Mesa Rugged Notepad is available in three models: Standard, Geo, & Geo 3G; has large 5.7 inch active viewing display; compact and lightweigh.
The company said that Standard Mesa features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology, while the Geo model adds 2-5 meter accuracy GPS and a 3.2MP camera enhanced with Juniper Geotagging; and its rugged magnesium and plastic chassis protects the Mesa from up to four foot drops onto concrete.
In addition, the Geo 3G model includes camera, GPS, and a 3G GSM data modem for increased speed and connectivity capabilities; and has user-defined shortcuts and 11 screen gadgets for controlling wireless connections, GPS, texting, email, calendar, and power functions.
David Dean, president of Electronic Data, said: "The Mesa has all the advantages of a handheld, plus the advantages of a tablet PC, without the disadvantages of either."
