Juniper Networks launches Junos Pulse App for iPhone, iPod touch

Provides anytime, anywhere secure remote access to enterprise network

By CBR Staff Writer

Juniper Networks has launched Junos Pulse App, which provides anytime, anywhere secure remote access and connectivity to iPhone and iPod touch, and is available on the App Store.

The new app along with SA Series SSL VPN appliances provides secure remote access to enterprise network from the iPhone and iPod touch, increasing productivity for the mobile workforce.

The Junos Pulse provides support for Apple’s VPN on demand, which allows VPN connectivity to iPhone users via certificate authentication when accessing predefined domains.

The new app is designed to provide connectivity by automatically disconnecting from the VPN when the iPhone is inactive while on Wi-Fi, and re-establishing VPN connectivity when the device is woken-up.

The company said that when the iPhone is idle on 3G, VPN connectivity is temporarily suspended until traffic is sent from any application, at which time the VPN is re-established seamlessly.

Juniper service layer technologies business group executive vice president and general manager Mark Bauhaus has said that instant and seamless secure access to corporate resources including applications, email, contacts and the intranet are all critical elements demanded by employees of any successful organisation.
