JetBrains, a technology-software development firm involved in the creation of intelligent, productivity-enhancing software, has launched RubyMine 3.0, an upgrade to its Ruby on Rails Development Environment, and the first IDE to support Rails 3.0.
The company said numerous changes were made in RubyMine’s every aspect including usability, performance, intelligence and all supported technologies.
The changes in RubyMine 3.0 include support for the latest Rails 3.0 framework, and better support for Ruby 1.9; RCov based Ruby code coverage integration inside the edito; and improved Ruby code editor with support for more languages.
The new version also includes Git integration, added Mercurial VCS support, and integration with issue trackers; and reworked user interface (UI) for all supported platforms.
Starting with RubyMine 3.0, separate personal and commercial licenses are available, both affordably priced, especially for individual developers.
RubyMine lead developer Dennis Ushakov said they are doing their best to keep the environment on the cutting edge, which is a must with a technology as dynamic as Ruby on Rails.
