Implementation – including proof of concept, migration and data validation – was accomplished in just three weeks with local partner, ITD. Now live on IBM’s AIX operating system, the new environment has already proven an increase in overall performance by up to 30%.
To address all three issues, IS Bank had considered a host of different individual solutions which it felt might provide the desired outcome. IS Bank discovered that outside Oracle’s utilities, GoldenGate was the only independent vendor that supported the Oracle ASM capability which quickly drove them to their final decision.
Demonstrating their successful partnership, the GoldenGate and ITD teams worked closely together with IS Bank to test, install and run the GoldenGate solution for this critical migration project. Once the new system was up and running, IS Bank used GoldenGate Veridata to validate that both systems contained the same data before switching over to the new environment.
Additionally, IS Bank had the ability to fail-back to the original system for a period of time in the event of any issues because of the GoldenGate solution’s bi-directional capabilities.
