Is Apple bringing split screen feature to iPad?

Samsung’s TouchWiz and Microsoft Windows 8 already offer this feature.

By CBR Staff Writer

Apple is reportedly planning introduce a multi-tasking feature in its updated iOS 8 operating system which will allow users to run two apps simultaneously in their iPad.

Samsung’s TouchWiz and Microsoft Windows 8 already offer this feature.

Apart from running two apps side by side on the screen, the new feature will also allow different apps in the device to interact with each other, allowing users to drag and drop images, videos and texts from one to other, a report from 9to5Mac said.

Multi tasking, split-screen feature will be available in 9.7-inch iPads but the sources did not reveal whether they will be offered with iPad Mini or not.

According to the report, the new feature could be a key to its large-screened iPad, which the company is planning to launch either later this year or in 2015.

Apple could also include several other features like Healthbook app which can track personal health data like blood data, calorie intake, sleep cycles, and weight changes.
