IronKey, a developer of secure flash drive with internet protection services, has formed a strategic partnership with McAfee, a provider of security technology services, to integrate the McAfee anti-virus scanning capability, and deliver it on-board IronKey Enterprise USB devices.

When an IronKey device is mounted, the McAfee anti-virus scan will automatically run to identify potentially harmful files. This is in addition to IronKey’s active malware defenses which stop worms from spreading, validates software and limits the use of IronKey devices to only trusted networks.

The McAfee anti-virus technology combines with advanced IronKey self defending features including AutoRun protection to provide a complete service.

IronKey reportedly provides layers of security required to make IronKey USB flash drives truly portable computing environments that protect data from loss or leakage, while preventing the spread of malware.

Steve Ryan, senior vice president of business development at IronKey, said: We are dedicated to working with our strategic partners to develop market leading solutions to protect our customers. Now all of IronKey’s customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that they have the industry’s anti-virus protection coupled with the world’s most secure USB device.
