Ipswitch unveils hosted Email offering

Claims to enable users to have their own virtual private server

By CBR Staff Writer

IMail Server provider Ipswitch has unveiled Hosted Email offering, which is a cloud-based Windows email server that provides businesses a low-cost alternative to Hosted Exchange.

The company said that the new offering enables users to have their own virtual private server (VPS), which ensures that valuable business data remains secure, isolated and backed up nightly.

The new offering security features Commtouch Premium anti-spam, encrypted instant messaging and DKIM/DomainKeys authentication, integrated anti-virus powered by BitDefender.

According to Ipswitch, the new offering enables businesses to continue to use Microsoft Outlook; leverage exchange-like collaboration; utilise mobile synchronisation with Exchange ActiveSync; integrate Ipswitch Hosted Archiving for regulatory compliance and eDiscovery; and eliminate the need for multiple providers and various licenses.

Ipswitch messaging division president Tripp Allen said that this offering is ideal for businesses that need to do more with less, and the company is providing the functionality user would expect from an on-premise server in a convenient hosted service.
