Apple’s new operating system, iOS 8 is reportedly causing apps like Facebook and Dropbox to crash 78% time more than its predecessor iOS 7.

The average crash rate recorded in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was 3.56% which was higher than the 3.57% recorded for iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and 5s, according to app analytics firm Criticism.

The average crash rate reported by the firm for iOS 7 was 2%.

The company reported most crashes happened in older phones, and the crash is the result of bugs in the operating system, and it is expected to improve with updates.

It is also possible that the apps that were reported to be crashing might not have been updated on the developers’ side.

According to Apple, the adoption rate of the new OS has been exceptional with 46% users as of 22nd September.
