The patent technology helps in protecting systems against computer hackers and safeguards electronic transactions.

By CBR Staff Writer

Intertrust Technologies, a software firm has sued Apple for infringing 15 mobile-device security patents and distributing its computing technologies.

Intertrust alledged in its filing in US Federal Court in the Northern District of California, that almost all Apple products, including iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, Mac computers, laptops and even iTunes use its technologies.

Additionally, Apple is accused of distributing the application’s software through its App Store.

Intertrust chief executive officer, Talal Shamoon, said some of Apple’s products use Intertrust’s inventions.

"Our patents are foundational to modern Internet security and trusted computing, and result from years of internal research and development," Shamoon said.

"We find it regrettable that we are forced to seek Court assistance to resolve this matter."

Intertrust reveals that its patents are essential for protecting systems against computer hackers and safeguarding several kinds of electronic transactions, including transfer of protected digital data between multiple devices, such as smartphones, tablets, desktop and laptop PCs.
