Interphase, a provider of embedded networking and communications products, has entered into a partnership with SafeNet, a provider of information security offerings, to provide a pre-integrated, carrier-grade IPsec network security hardware and software offering for development of IP-based applications.
Under the partnership, the QuickSec 5.0 toolkit from SafeNet has been integrated with the Interphase iSPAN 36CA OCTEON Plus AdvancedMC Packet Processor and iSPAN 55CA Quad GE to PCI-x Packet Processor, both Cavium Networks OCTEON-based multicore packet processor cards.
The companies said that the combined security offerings has the ability to decrease their time to market and maximise throughput for applications such as convergent broadband offerings based on 3G/4G technologies; high-performance security appliances such as wireless LAN gateways, VPN gateways, session border controllers; and line-rate packet processing with content inspection (deep packet inspection) for offerings such as load balancers, routers, and gateways
