Intel has released first product from its Security unit called Intel Security Controller, which is designed to make software-defined data center environments more secure.
The controller integrates McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform which would provide automated provisioning, remediation and protection of the virtual and physical systems that uses VMware’s NSX network virtualisation solution.
The controller will be used as a virtual machine inside data centres, which will act as an agent between security software and infrastructure.
The Intel Security Controller will work with the existing management applications to help service providers to maximise security infrastructure related investments.
Intel announced the new solution at the VMworld 2014 show, along with that McAfee also announced the enhancement of its Server Security Suites solutions which includes Simplified Security Virtual Appliance and Improved resource optimisation.
According to McAfee the amount of data stored in servers makes it the prime target for hackers and McAfee provides server security solutions to protect the servers from being attacked.
McAfee senior vice president and general manager Candace Worley said, "Today’s flexible data centers require innovative solutions that shield physical, virtual and cloud environments from stealthy attacks."
