Intellicheck bags contract from Texas Military Base

Intellicheck Mobilisa to provide Defense ID access control system to protect the base

By CBR Staff Writer

Defense ID, using Intellicheck’s patented ID reading technology, scans various forms of IDs, such as Drivers Licenses, Military IDs or TWIC cards and instantly compares the data to over 100 “bad guy” lists. The Defense ID is currently in use at over 70 secure government installations.

Fort Sam Houston is home to over 27,000 military and civilian personnel. It is the centre of the Army Medical Command headquarters known as the “home of Army medicine”.

Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intellicheck, said: “Though a voluntary background check system existed, Fort Sam Houston chose Defense ID access control system to provide a broader security check. With today’s announcement of a foiled terrorist plot in New York on targets that included aircraft from a nearby military base, it reinforces the critical need for the Defense ID System.”

Intellicheck develops and markets wireless technology and identity systems for applications such as mobile and handheld wireless devices for the government and commercial markets. Its products include the Defense ID system, an advanced ID card access control product protecting over 50 military and federal locations.
