The company says the processor will deliver desktop-like performance.
The new dual core Atom processor will be available in three versions which include Z2580 (2.0GHz), Z2560 (1.6GHz)and Z2520 (1.2 GHz).
The processor has Hyper-Threading Technology which supports four simultaneous application threads enhancing the performance of the Atom cores.
The company claims the processor to offer global roaming in one SKU with envelope tracking and antenna tuning.
Intel mobile and communications group vice president, co-general manager, Hermann Eul said: "In less than a year’s time we have worked closely with our customers to bring Intel-based smartphones to market in more than 20 countries around the world, and have also delivered an industry-leading low-power Atom SoC tablet solution running Windows 8, and shipping with leading OEM customers today."
The processor includes support for 3D graphics, 1080p video at 30fps, 1920×1200 pixels display, an image signal processor, and Intel Identity Protection Technology to support to-factor authentication.
The chips come with Dalvik VM runtime, x86 trace-based JIT, Native Code Generation, JavaScript, and HTML5 code execution.
Intel said that Asus, Lenovo and ZTE are building Android based smartphones and tablets based on Intel Clover Trail+ platform.
