Infosys unveils TalentEdge HR platform

Cloud-based service goes 'beyond' SaaS, says firm

By Steve Evans

Indian IT services giant Infosys has unveiled TalentEdge, a cloud-based talent management platform that is said to address the entire HR lifecycle.

Samson David, vice president and global head – Business Platforms, Infosys, told CBR the platform is a "soup-to-nuts" offering that includes elements designed to increase employee engagement, such as mobile access and social media-style functions.

David added that the platform covers the entire HR lifecycle, from hiring to retiring, as the company puts it. It claims to streamline HR functions such as payroll, attendance and benefits processing. Infosys says this can help to reduce operational costs.

Infosys TalentEdge is a cloud-based service but David told CBR it goes further than a traditional SaaS offering by being priced on an outcome-based model. "The service stops when the pay check is delivered to an employee," he said.

TalentEdge is part of a wider project at the firm to deliver more cloud-based services. Infosys Edge offers business platforms online, which the company says will spearhead the next wave of how IT services are delivered. The focus will be on business outcomes rather than services or technology outcomes, Samson David said.

Infosys will be adding more elements to its Edge platform over the next few months.

"Infosys Edge business platforms in the cloud are focused on accelerating business innovation for our clients across functions. With Infosys TalentEdge, companies can focus more on deepening talent engagement while simplifying transactional HR processes," David added in a statement.

The introduction of Infosys Edge contributes to Infosys 3.0. The company has dropped "Technologies" part of its name. The July/August issues of CBR features an in-depth look at Infosys and its new CEO SD Shibulal. It will appear online shortly.
