Informatica launches new professional services implementations

Claims to increase quality of data integration projects

By CBR Staff Writer

Informatica has launched two new professional services implementations, the Lean Integration Factory and the PowerCentre Automated Deployment Framework, which it claims to be designed to accelerate time-to-implementation and time-to-value for the company’s data integration offerings and the integration projects they support.

The company claims that the new offerings optimise the use and performance of organisations’ integration development and support resources, and reduces integration costs, supports efficient and outsourced code development and regulatory compliance.

According to Informatica, the Lean Integration Factory focuses on avoiding waste, driving improvement, reusing components and automating routine processes. It leverages the Lean Velocity methodology and such management practices as value stream mapping, MBF problem solving and Kaizen events to improve integration team productivity, reduce costs, accelerate delivery and maximise project quality.

The automated deployment framework automates the setup of PowerCenter environments from migrating code and mappings through development and testing and into production across multiple projects. It enables IT organisations to configure and deploy a standardised data integration project environment, the company said.

In addition, it supports regulatory compliance efforts by preserving a detailed history of all PowerCentre code configurations and configuration and code changes.

Brian Hodges, senior vice president of worldwide professional services at Informatica, said: Common approaches, standardised procedures, automation and repeatability, continuous improvement: these and other Lean principles applied to enterprise data integration development and deployment is the way of the future, yielding staggering advantages in terms of increased productivity, agility and business value.

“Informatica Professional Services has distilled the experience gained over thousands of customer data integration implementations to create our latest two highly synergistic professional service offerings designed to help customers leverage the Informatica Platform for the greatest and most rapid return.
