Infoblox has announced that Barclays Capital is using Infoblox’s IP address management (IPAM) platform throughout its global network.

Barclays relies on its IT network to operate its business and deliver its services round the clock.

The Infoblox IPAM offering plays an essential role in ensuring that the Barclays network is always available for its employees and clients worldwide, said Infoblox.

The Infoblox platform helps simplify IP address management and related tasks, increases reliability of domain name system (DNS) and IP address assignment (DHCP) services, said the company.

The platform also provides extensible capabilities to help automate many manual and often error prone network infrastructure related tasks.

With more than 150 Infoblox appliances deployed globally to date, Barclays has standardised on the Infoblox IPAM platform.

Barclays Bank chief information officer Jim Ditmore said network downtime can directly translate to risk of financial loss; as a result, the bank’s standard criteria for reliability, security and manageability are very high.

Ditmore said, "Infoblox is the only IPAM solution that has met and exceeded those criteria. Not only does the platform help us deliver essential network services flawlessly, it has helped us realise many efficiencies and scale with a keen focus on automating mundane tasks and increasing visibility and control."
