Imperva, a provider of data security offerings, has released SecureSphere Virtual Appliances to accommodate the data security requirements of dynamic and virtualised enterprise environments.

The company claims that the new SecureSphere Virtual Appliances provide security protection, compliance and risk management of Imperva’s hardware-based offerings as well as flexible, fast deployment, enabling organisations to provision and configure new security services.

According to Imperva, the SecureSphere Virtual Appliances provide web application and database firewalls as well as database activity monitoring and can be installed on an organisation’s preferred hardware of choice running VMWare ESX, allowing them to benefit from reduced capital and operational costs.

In addition, the new appliances offer enhanced inspection and protection of web and database servers within a VMware ESX server virtual network and support VMware Vmotion.

Amichai Shulman, CTO of Imperva, said: We’ve seen increasing demand for a virtual offering from our MSSP, hosting and telecommunications customers, in particular. Our SecureSphere Virtual Appliances offer the same level of data security protection as our hardware solutions and enable us to accommodate their requirements for deployment flexibility.
