IBM Corp has drawn on security software from BigFix Inc to provide an endpoint security management product for release next month that will let security managers control their chosen point products from a single console.
Proventia Endpoint Secure Control will address the areas of intrusion prevention, firewall and network access control, data protection and loss prevention and endpoint encryption, and security configuration and patch management, IBM said.
The new product will also provide endpoint security audit data to the IBM Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager (TSIEM).
BigFix has developed a unified management platform for endpoint controls that can be deployed to coordinate management of security clients from CA, IBM, McAfee, Sophos, and Symantec. Multiple management infrastructures can be consolidated and, over time, eliminated using its systems.
