IBM has opened its 30th branch office in the city of Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, China. The new branch office takes the total number of IBM offices in growth markets to over 230.

The office opening is part of a geographic expansion initiative that IBM is driving to increase its presence in growth markets throughout the world.

The new branch office in Hohhot will serve the needs of IBM’s clients in the region and will allow the company to deliver complex and high-value offerings such as cloud computing and business analytics.

IBM growth markets unit general manager Bruno Di Leo said with over 230 branches in 53 growth market countries, they are actively strengthening their ability to provide high-value offerings to their clients and partners in the fastest growing markets in the world.

"China has long played a valuable role in IBM’s business and as we expand our operations into new territories, it continues to provide a valuable source of growth and skills for the company," Leo said.
