IBM has acquired cloud-based identity management services firm Lighthouse Security Group, to strengthen its enterprise level security services portfolio.
Rhode Island-based Lighthouse Security Group offers security services for enterprises to manage and protect identities and data of employees and customers across various cloud platforms.
IBM said in a statement: "Businesses can take immediate steps to help protect corporate data and prevent identity theft by ensuring that only authorized personnel can access sensitive corporate information no matter what the entry point. "
IBM plans to integrate its identity and access management services with its recently acquired security software provider CrossIdeas and Lighthouse Security Group.
The company will be able to allow its customers keep an eye on people accessing their systems, data and network from multiple points including cloud and mobile devices.
IBM Security Services GM, Kris Lovejoy, said: Business models are rapidly evolving as employees conduct more of their work offsite.
