i365, a Seagate company, has launched a new version of the EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance for small businesses looking for backup and recovery offering. The company said that the backup and recovery offering consists of pre-configured hardware,a complete suite of EVault Software for comprehensive system and data protection, and comes with a usable storage capacity of three terabytes.

According to i365, the EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance provides organisations with a way to protect critical systems and data, and offers a single platform to the day to day data back-up and recovery requirements.A It can be managed via an intuitive web-based user control EVault CentralControl, which allows back-up jobs to be scheduled and managed throughout the entire organisation.

The EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance brings backup and recovery technology to small and mid-size businesses in an easy to implement appliance, while also offering across the board standardisation for remote and branch offices within large enterprises, the company claims.

The company said that by using EVault Plug-n-Protect Small Business, customers can protect any combination of platforms and applications, including Windows, Novell NetWare, Linux, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, IBM i, VMware, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Cluster Services, and Oracle.
