HTC said that the US International Trade Commission (ITC), a trade panel, had postponed its final ruling in HTC’s lawsuit against Apple to December 19. Earlier, the ITC had scheduled a ruling for December 6.
The Taiwan-based phone maker said no reason was given for the delay in the case.
A decision in favour of Apple could affect HTC as its phones could be banned in the US, which alone accounts for more than half of HTC’s sales. HTC had also filed a complaint with the ITC alleging that Apple infringed its own patents.
Meanwhile, Apple is slugging it out against Motorola and Samsung in many parts of the world, including the US over patent disputes.
Both ITC and Apple weren’t available for comments.
