HP has added some improvements to some of the old Mercury Performance Center testing products, so they can better cope with new test processes that are called for in the management of Web 2.0 applications.
In line with industry moves to include support for SOA architectures and rich internet applications into application lifecycle management (ALM) toolsets, HP said its upgraded software would find and fix performance issues in Web 2.0 applications with increased support for new technologies and frameworks, including Adobe Action Message Format.
“This helps businesses build rich internet applications to improve their end-user experience and increase customer satisfaction.”
HP said it has also updated its application lifecycle management services to help larger IT shops create centres of excellence (CoE) for testing and ALM processes, as they bid to increase the quality of applications while reducing IT costs.
Version 9.5 of the Performance Center product lets users sharing test assets so they can consolidate performance testing in a CoE.
The upgraded system also comes with some new features to support trend analysis.
The Performance Center product testing suite includes the popular LoadRunner load testing software, and both products can be licensed in the usual way or on a pay-as-you-go on-demand basis through the company’s Software as a Service offering.
