HP unveils Android based laptop

SlateBook PC will have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

HP has released an Android OS powered laptop, SlateBook PC which it claims will offer the interface of Android with the performance of a notebook.

The 16-mm high notebook features 14-inch Full HD touch screen, runs on a 1.8 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processorintegrated with GeForce graphics.

It features 1080p HD 10-point capacitive touch screen with battery life of up to 9 hours.

Targeting those Android lovers, the PC will have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with a touch screen and keyboard and touchpad.

The device comes with 16, 32 or 64GB storage option with 2GB of RAM weighing 3.7lbs and features quad BeatsAudio speakers.

It will hit the US market from July 20 with a starting price of $429.99.

The company has also extended its line up of touch convertible PCs with addition of HP ENVY x360 and the next-generation HP Pavilion x360, which can be switched from a notebook to a stand, tent or tablet.

In addition HP Split x2 comes with an Intel Core processor, a 10-point touchscreen display and quiet fanless design, an advanced hinge design and an optional dual battery system to shift from tablet to notebook.
