HP Slate7 tablet will offer easy access to Google Mobile services.

By CBR Staff Writer

HP has unveiled the HP Slate7 tablet powered by the Android operating system.

The tablet is powered by an ARM Dual Core Cortex-A9 1.6 GHz processor, runs on the Android 4.21 Jelly Bean operating system and is scheduled for launch by April 2013.

HP Mobility Global Business Unit senior vice president, Alberto Torres, said that the company will offer form factors and increase itsarray of operating systems to meet the growing interest in tablets among consumers and businesses.

"Our new HP Slate7 on Android represents a compelling entry point for consumer tablets, while our ground-breaking, business-ready HP ElitePad on Windows 8 is ideal for enterprises and governments," said Torres.

Slate7 will offer easy access to Google Mobile services including Google Now, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and Google+ Hangouts for video chat, apps and digital content through Google Play.

The tablet will come with a 7 inch diagonal screen packed in a stainless-steel frame with soft black paint in gray or red on the back.

Features of the device also include integrated wireless, high-aperture-ratio field fringe switching (HFFS) panel, a 3-megapixel camera on the back, a VGA camera on the front and a micro USB port.
