HP releases its first public beta cloud services

Offered as a pay-as-you-go model

By CBR Staff Writer

HP has released its first public cloud services as a beta model, which the company says is an open-source-based public cloud infrastructure with business-oriented features.

The new cloud infrastructure will enable developers, independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprises of all sizes to build the enhanced Web applications, said the company.

HP is offering the public beta services, HP Cloud Object Storage, HP Cloud Compute and HP Cloud Content Delivery Network, through a pay-as-you-go model.

The open-sourced-based architecture is designed with OpenStack technology to ensure no vendor lock-in, improves developer productivity, and is backed by personalised customer support.

HP’s full suite of public cloud services, which feature a full stack of easy-to-use tools for faster time to code, will enable developers to create the web services to be built, run and scaled on a global basis, supported by analytics, tools and services.

HP Cloud Services senior vice president and general manager Zorawar ‘Biri’ Singh said whether you are an independent developer, ISV or the CIO of a major organization, the priority is to design your applications for today’s cloud economy.

Singh said, "We will continue to build, integrate and deploy developer-focused features, designed to support a world-class cloud that enables our customers and partners to run and operate web services at scale, on a global basis."
