HP has introduced a new security offerings that prevent network breaches in a converged infrastructure by delivering comprehensive data protection across both virtual and physical environments.

According to HP, the new offerings provide enhanced security to its FlexFabric, a flexible, high-performance, and secure data center networking fabric for a Converged Infrastructure.

The company claimed that the TippingPoint Secure Virtualisation Framework (SVF) is a suite of products designed to help prevent network threats from impacting virtualised environments. The TippingPoint Virtual Controller (vController), a product introduced under the SVF, extends TippingPoint security protection from physical to virtual networks by routing it through an HP TippingPoint N-Platform Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) appliance.

In addition, the vController prevents security attacks by inspecting all VM traffic as it moves through the network and provides increased network security by extending automated threat-prevention capabilities to virtual environments.

The company has also expanded its security product line with the TippingPoint Reputation Digital Vaccine service, that provides the current list of malicious and suspicious websites, and blocks them from entering into IPS solutions.

Further, the company has introduced two new TippingPoint S-series offerings that expand network security from local area networks to the data center for both physical and virtual domains by providing flexible deployment of network protection with the TippingPoint S1200N IPS A7500 Module and enhanced security across the network with the TippingPoint S1500 SSL Appliance.
