HP introduces new security applications for enterprises

The new services will help orgnaisations identify threats earlier and enable faster response time

Hardware firm HP has introduced new security applications to help enterprises assess, transform, optimise and manage their security environments to reduce risk.

The company claimed that the new applications will offer proactive security to nable organisations to leverage big data, cloud, mobility.

HP Enterprise Services acting executive vice president Mike Nefkens said: "HP helps clients protect what matters most to their organizations by delivering intelligent security solutions that prioritize security resources to help identify threats earlier and enable a faster response time."

The company has unveiled a new security service for the public sector enterprises, HP Security for Public Sector, that protects the public sector units from cyberthreats.

HP also introduced multiple additions to its security application for public sector, including HP Assured Identity, Comprehensive Applications Threat Analysis (CATA) on Demand and the new HP Security Operations Center (SOC) consulting services.

The Assured Identity application offers simplified identity, credential and access management and controls against insider threats, identity proofing and reduced complexity around secure information sharing between collaborating organisations.

Comprehensive Applications Threat Analysis (CATA) on Demand lowers the cost of application security by addressing threats throughout the development life cycle.

HP Security Operations Center (SOC) Consulting Services are designed for public sector clients outside the United States and will enable clients to establish an on-site intelligent cybersecurity operations centre. Clients also can acquire HP Services to assist in managing the centre.

The company has also introduced new products and services, HP Data Center Protection Services, ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager 6.0c and TippingPoint NX Platform NGIPS, to provide clients with the transparency and control over their entire organization.

HP Data Center Protection Services helps organisations to optimise infrastructure and improve programme management across the data centre and HP ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager 6.0c is a security monitoring and compliance application that identifies and remediates cyberthreats.

The TippingPoint NX Platform Next Generation Intrusion Prevention Systems (NGIPS) offers protection across network devices, virtual machines, operating systems and business-critical applications by adding significant capacity for deep-packet traffic inspection.

HP also announced a mobile application, Information Security Pulse, for IT security professionals that utilises data from HP Digital Vaccine Labs (DVLabs) to monitor current and trending cyberthreats. It also enables security professionals to determine and address risks that may affect their environment.

The company has introduced new security applications focused on print environments, including HP Access Control Printing Solutions, Imaging and Printing Security Assessment service and Imaging and Printing Security Center.

HP Access Control (HPAC) Printing Solutions is designed to enhance device security and improve companywide printing policies.

The Imaging and Printing Security Assessment service will reviews the print environment from a security and compliance perspective, minimising the risks of unattended documents, sensitive data processing from a computer to a printer, and confidential information on device hard drives.

HP’s Imaging and Printing Security Center (IPSC) is policy-based application that increases security automation while reducing risk through broader device and operating-system compatibility, expanded HP Instant-on Security device support and enhanced password management capabilities.
