HP introduces Android based Slate 21 All-in-One PC

The All-in-One PC runs on Google's Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system.

HP has expanded its multi-OS products portfolio with the introduction of the HP Slate21 All-in-One PC, which is said to be th company’s first All-in-One PC to run on Google’s Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system (OS).

According to the company, the Slate 21 allows users to access the content such as calendars, email, notes and documents through Google Services as well as enables them to organise content and connect to other devices.

HP PC Displays and Accessories VP and general manager, Jun Kim, said that the customers are looking for technology that simplifies their lives while keeping them connected to the entertainment and the required content.

"The HP Slate21 allows families to easily access content through the cloud and enjoy it together on a large, interactive screen," Kim said.

The PC is powered by a Tegra 4 quad-core NVIDIA processor and comes with a 21.5-inch full high-definition (HD) diagonal reclining IPS touchscreen.

HP Slate 21 features dual-band technology, which allows users to stream music, movies and browse the web at the same time, and has built-in DTS Sound technology.

Features of the PC include HP TrueVision HD Webcam, Wireless Direct to share videos, photos and data between devices and multiuser support.

HP will make the device available in the US by September this year at a starting price of $399.
