HP has added new appliances to its HP TippingPoint NX Series Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS) range which claimed to speed up detection, identification and mitigation of network security threats.

The appliances include the HP S7500NX, HP S6200NX and HP S2600NX NGIPS, which come with a data transfer speeds of 20Gbps, 10Gbps and 3Gbps, respectively.

According to the company, the new appliances allow the network security operations teams to locate threats quickly and accurately, without affecting the network traffic.

The company claims that the appliances also allow users to customise the interfaces and bypass options, for business continuity during a hardware failure.

HP TippingPoint Enterprise Security Products vice president and general manager Rob Greer said that the boom in cloud and mobile applications has put the pressure on network security operations to provide the highest-speed networks while maintaining security efficacy.

"HP TippingPoint continues to deliver innovative network security solutions that address rapidly evolving security threats without adding complexity, cost or resource consumption to the data centre," Greer added.

All the HP TippingPoint appliances leverage research from HP TippingPoint DVLabs and the Zero Day Initiative for enabling detection, identification and mitigation of the latest security vulnerabilities.
