How Pegasystems helps government agencies modernise

Government agencies can streamline certification and licensing operations with a customer-centric approach.

By Duncan Macrae

Software firm Pegasystems, has launched a new Certification and Licensing solution.

The solution aims to help government agencies provide a better customer experience for their constituents looking to apply for, or renew, required certification and licensing. It incorporates combined enterprise data and customer intent with automated processes and policies on the back-end. Built on Pegasystems’ Build for Change platform, the solution is tailored for professional licensing, marine fisheries, agriculture and forestry, public health, environmental protection, and public safety.

Pegasystems said it can help agencies achieve unprecedented agility to respond immediately to changing mandates and regulations. The company added that it can also enable agencies to offer constituents multi-channel access, including mobile devices; experience better work performance via Pegasystem’s case management solutions; and gain the agility to rapidly implement and adjust applications and renewals from the field. Additional features include real-time dashboards, pre-built processes and user interfaces tailored for government, dynamic business rules, and expanded multi-channel service.

Doug Averill, director of Business Process Management for the State of Maine, said: "The State of Maine is committed to increasing and simplifying operational efficiencies while improving the experience of our citizens when they engage with the state government. There’s a new era evolving in state government, and the State of Maine’s decision to implement Pega’s Certification and Licensing solution supports our focus on delivering the best possible service, while also having the agility to address necessary changes moving forward.

"It’s critical to the state that we can more easily process certifications and licenses while maintaining security and privacy, and rapidly respond to regulatory and compliance requirements."
Thom Rubel, business line leader, public sector, Pegasystems, added: "Public sector organisations understand the value of high productivity and excellent service in today’s climate, and when it comes to certification and licensing issues, Pega’s new solution helps organisations achieve both.

"Forward-looking agencies are using Pega solutions to achieve more efficient and effective government, while also providing citizens with a better service experience."

Pega’s Certification and Licensing solution is designed to increase time-to-value while reducing risk through a number of key features that include:
