By CBR Staff Writer

Hastings Entertainment, a multimedia entertainment retailer, has launched a new e-commerce website that reportedly includes an assortment of new and used books, videos, music, video games and fashion trends products.

Built by Fry, an e-commerce products provider, the new online storefront is reportedly built using its Open Commerce Platform (OCP) – an e-commerce offering that provides retailers with the tools to expand their e-commerce business. The new site features the ability to watch video and video game trailers, preview and download music titles, set up a user wish list that can be passed on to family and friends for gift giving, reserve a copy of an upcoming release to be picked up in one of the company’s local stores or shipped to a customer upon release, and check the balance of a gift card, the company said.

In addition to these features, the new site is expected to integrate with stores, allowing customers to look up specific store information, store hours, store events, and check online to see if a desired item is in stock at their local store.

Kevin Ball, vice president of marketing at Hastings, said: With everything the new and improved site has to offer, we can provide our customers with a one-stop shop for all their entertainment needs. In addition, the new site offers an increased availability of used and value priced products, which will allow our customers to discover their entertainment, especially during a time of economic downturn.”
