Have you ever lost your car, got caught by a speed camera or spent too much money on petrol?

CBR has put together a list of apps that can help you save money and drive more safely.

The Aviva App

The app uses GPS to monitor driving for 200 miles, allowing safer drivers to earn discounts off their car insurance. Motorists who drive carefully can receive a reduction of up to 20% on their premium. After 200 miles of motoring, the driver is given an individual score which will be used to calculate a discount from his or her insurance.

Find My Car

Parking your car hastily only to return to the place you thought you left it and find it’s not there – something that’s happened to everyone.

Find My Car is designed to help make sure it never happens again.

The app uses the GPS in your smartphone to pinpoint the position of the car and directs you from your current position right to the driver’s door. Other features include an emergency button that sends a text message with your location to family and friends.

Just don’t forget to log your position before leaving the vehicle.
