GreenPeak Technologies has launched a radio chip and integrated modules at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), aimed towards the Internet of Things (IoT) market which is likely to feature heavily at the event.
The GP691 ZigBee radio chip is claimed to have the industry’s most efficient power consumption, which GreenPeak say will be "critical" for the energy harvesting of devices associated with smart homes.

The firm has also announced a partnership with Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) to develop an integrated module for the GP691 that will ease IoT vendors’ transition to market by providing a standard wireless setup internationally.
CY Wei, president of USI, said: "The market of ZigBee and ZigBee-combo modules will eclipse the market of Bluetooth and WiFi, enabling USI to further expand its industry and technology leadership."
