Chrome senior vice president, Sundar Pichai, said that it is clear that touchscreen is here to stay.

"I am sure every laptop will have touch in the future," Pichai said.

Scheduled to go on sale by April 2013, the laptop features dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a backlit keyboard and is offered with storages of 32GB and 64GB.

The new laptop will be available at a price of $1,299 with WiFi and $1,449 for a version with LTE.
