Google to make scheduling easy with Timeful acquisition

Google planning to integrate Timeful services with its mobile offerings.

By CBR Staff Writer

Google has acquired scheduling software maker Timeful to boost its own mobile services and product offerings including Inbox, Calendar and Docs.

Timeful’s app analyses users schedule, understands their habits and priorities and accordingly it creates schedules and sends reminders.

The company is backed by Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Greylock, Data Collective, Pitango, and AGrade, and it launched its scheduling app in March last year which works with calendar software belonging to major platforms including iCal, Microsoft Exchange and Google Calendar.

Based on machine learning, the technology is designed to simplify users life by scheduling things that otherwise could consume a lot of time.

Google said: "You can tell Timeful you want to exercise three times a week or that you need to call the bank by next Tuesday, and their system will make sure you get it done based on an understanding of both your schedule and your priorities.

"We’re excited about all the ways Timeful’s technology can be applied across products like Inbox, Calendar and beyond, so we can do more of the work for you and let you focus on being creative, having fun and spending time with the people you care about."

Google is presently focusing on beefing up its mobile services in order to attract advertisers and users.

Previously the company even took steps to prioritise websites that are specifically tailored for mobile devices.

Timeful said that moving on, users will have access to the Timeful app, but the company will be focusing upon new projects in Google.
